BREXSHIT (Where have all the morals gone?)

WE fostered the ‘something for nothing’ attitude.

Revered it.

Looked up to it.

The values on which OUR country was once built,

founded on,

lived by,

and admired for

all but gone –

bar our withstanding sense of humour.

Only, now with a slight grimace.

The one thing we didn’t “GIVE” or “TAKE” from India.

In fact, the ONE THING we had in common, that managed to forge a long-standing partnership.

Despite the fact we COLONIZED THE FUCK out of them.

Sadly, the “GREAT” things that our country, not only stood for,

but actually PUT THE GREAT into BRITAIN –

TOLERENCE, FRIENDSHIP, WARMTH, HELP –

offered from the heart,

not for what it could get.

Given willingly – all gone.

Education, knowledge, entrepreneurial minds – all disappearing into a Thatcher baked cake.

And the angry miners got by,

fighting for what they believed in,

right till the very end.

Holding on to their PASTIES,

GRIPPING on to life.

While their kids died.

In a pile, for the rich.

One way, or another.

So the rich got richer, and the POOR got poorer.

And another era emerged.

Of bullying, taunting.

The Nouveau Riche.

BREXSHIT in the making.

And what do we have left of the NHS,

but CARING nurses,

and INTELLIGENT doctors.

Run off their feet,

If they are still able to stand at all.

And the odd GOOD TEACHER

That still, even today WANTS to HELP.

Because they like to help,

For helps purpose only.

NOT for anything else.

‘Cos they don’t get anything else

Except an odd “THANK YOU”

Less times than they go home crying

From sheer stress

and exhaustion.

So “GREAT BRITAIN” is now again

“LITTLE BRITAIN”

And I wonder where the last two decades

DISAPPEARED.

Someone once said,

“PICK YOUR BATTLES”.

Well, this is ONE of mine.
